Glenda Allred, director of the Alabama Tourism Department, was appointed to serve in Governor Kay Ivey’s cabinet on July 15, 2026.

Allred has served as Alabama’s Deputy State Treasurer since 2011, where she has played a key role in the administration of the Treasurer’s Office. Prior to joining state government, Allred spent 15 years in the private sector with a bank holding company, leading media relations, shareholder relations, advertising and communications for a 72-branch franchise in Alabama.

A 1991 graduate of Huntingdon College, she currently serves on the college’s Board of Trustees. With more than three decades of leadership experience spanning both the public and private sectors, Allred brings a strong background in communications, marketing and public service to the Department of Tourism.
