Governor Ivey Encourages Alabamians to Vote in May 19 Primary Election

MONTGOMERY – Governor Kay Ivey on Friday encouraged Alabamians to vote in the upcoming May 19 Primary Election.

“As citizens, it is our patriotic duty to vote. In Alabama, we have an important Primary Election this Tuesday, May 19 with several big races on the ballot.” said Governor Ivey. “Alabama is experiencing historic momentum, and you selecting strong elected leaders will help our state be even more successful in the years ahead. If you don’t vote, you can’t gripe, so head to the polls this Tuesday, May 19.”

Alabamians will have the opportunity to vote on every constitutional office, as well as their legislators and members of Congress. There will also be two constitutional amendments on the ballot, including one to make it harder for criminals to be released.

Polls across the state will be open this coming Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Registered voters must bring a valid photo ID. 2026 election information can be found on the Secretary of State’s website.
