Alabama STAR ID Program Announcement

Governor Kay Ivey, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Secretary Hal Taylor, and The Aviation Council of Alabama President Todd Storey, on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 kicked off the countdown to a federal deadline requiring a more secure identification to fly domestically on commercial aircraft and to enter military bases and certain federal facilities. During the press conference, Governor Ivey urged Alabama citizens to consider obtaining a STAR ID, which stands for Secure, Trusted and Reliable Identification, before the October 1, 2020 deadline.
