Pharmacy Technician Day
Proclamation
By the Governor of Alabama
WHEREAS, pharmacy is one of the oldest of the health professions concerned with the health and well-being of all people; and
WHEREAS, today, there are over 16,300 pharmacy technicians registered to practice in Alabama, of which more than 4,400 have obtained national certification; and
WHEREAS, the job performed by pharmacy technicians is critically necessary for pharmacists’ ability to meet the demand for prescription medications by the citizens of Alabama; and
WHEREAS, pharmacy technicians have become a major link in today’s healthcare chain:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Kay Ivey, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim October 17, 2017, as
Pharmacy Technician Day
in the State of Alabama and urge all citizens to acknowledge the valuable services of pharmacy technicians in providing safe, affordable and beneficial pharmaceutical care services and products.
