Alabama School Bus Safety Week

Proclamation
By the Governor of Alabama
WHEREAS, nearly 362,567 of Alabama’s elementary and secondary students are transported to and from school each day of the school year; and
WHEREAS, the safety of these students is of utmost importance to all citizens of the state; and
WHEREAS, Alabama’s school bus drivers and other transportation employees work diligently to ensure safe transportation for all of Alabama students:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Kay Ivey, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim October 16th through October 20th, 2017, as
Alabama School Bus Safety Week
in the State of Alabama and urge all Alabamians, particularly motorists, to be especially cautious where school buses and school children are involved.
