Alabama Emergency Nurses Week

Proclamation
By the Governor of Alabama
WHEREAS, nurses serve a critical role in patient preparedness at the local, state, and national level when it comes to providing direct care during accidents; and
WHEREAS, emergency nurses specialize in the assessment, intervention, and stabilization of illnesses and trauma patients; and
WHEREAS, due to the range of medical conditions that may require urgent treatment, emergency nurses are specially trained and qualified to treat both general and specific health issues; and
WHEREAS, emergency nurses encourage and promote professionalism among peers in the field and endeavor to increase the skills and knowledge of emergency nurses; and
WHEREAS, emergency nurses serve the State of Alabama with a steadfast commitment to excellence, educating the public about the prevention and treatment of injuries and illnesses; and
WHEREAS, Alabama Emergency Nurses Week is an opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of Alabama’s emergency nurses:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Kay Ivey, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim the week of October 8th through October 14th, 2017, as
Alabama Emergency Nurses Week
in the State of Alabama.
