Children of Fallen Patriots Day
Proclamation
By the Governor of Alabama
WHEREAS, the men and women of our Armed Forces continue to work together to protect and serve the citizens of the United States; and
WHEREAS, throughout our nation’s history, many of these patriots have given the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms; and
WHEREAS, these fallen service members return home to their families where a folded flag represents the most solemn of rites; and
WHEREAS, citizens of Alabama will pause and remember the sacrifice of our fallen patriots as well as the children they have left behind; and
WHEREAS, Alabama is proud to be one of the select states in the United States that has honored Children of Fallen Patriots Day on May 13th thus celebrating the past, present and future of Alabama’s long-standing support for the children of our fallen patriots:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Kay Ivey, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim May 13, 2017, as
Children of Fallen Patriots Day
in the State of Alabama.
