Atmore BBQ Competition and Festival

Proclamation
By the Governor of Alabama
WHEREAS, the 2nd Annual Atmore BBQ Competition and Festival will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Atmore, Alabama at Tom Byrne Park; and
WHEREAS, the Atmore BBQ Competition and Festival will encourage family fun and promote tourism in the Atmore area; and
WHEREAS, competitors will enter the BBQ categories of chicken, ribs and pulled pork butts; and
WHEREAS, the festival will include numerous local arts and craft vendors and food tents and attract visitors from around the state; and
WHEREAS, proceeds from the inaugural Atmore BBQ Competition and Festival will benefit the Escambia County High School; and
WHEREAS, contestants, judges, food enthusiasts and families from around the state will enjoy this annual event and continue the tradition of exceptional barbeque in the State of Alabama:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Kay Ivey, Governor of Alabama, do hereby recognize the
Atmore BBQ Competition and Festival
as an official State Barbeque Championship of the State of Alabama.
