Governor Ivey’s Statement Regarding House Action on Military Support Bills

MONTGOMERY – Upon passage of several military-focused bills by the Alabama House of Representatives, Governor Kay Ivey released the following statement:
“Today, the House of Representatives – in a bipartisan manner – passed several bills to support our military. This continues a long tradition in our state of supporting the men and women who wear our nation’s military uniforms.
“One key measure was House Bill 242, which creates the Alabama Job Creation and Military Stability Commission. The creation of this group was a key initiative during my tenure as Lieutenant Governor. I’m thankful to the legislature for creating this important organization.
“I am honored to serve as the Chairperson of the Job Creation and Military Stabilization Commission. It is my goal in this role to ensure that our state and its military installations are prepared to capitalize on and grow during the process of any future Base Realignment and Closure process.
“I will proudly sign these bills.”
