of state boards and commissions to which the Governor makes appointments.
Governor Riley is committed to filling the vacancies on our state boards and commissions with qualified and dedicated Alabama residents who have an interest in working to move Alabama forward. Members of Alabama state boards and commissions are vital participants in policy making, regulation, advisory and advocacy efforts for a wide variety of issues affecting all Alabamians.
If you are interested in serving on a board, simply complete the
online application
or send a letter, along with a résumé, to our office expressing your desire to serve. You should specify the board or commission in which you are interested and explain why you are qualified or experienced in the area of the board's activity. Many boards have similar names, so be sure to state the full and correct name of your board preference. Please send your information to:

If you would like to submit a
recommendation
of someone for the Governor’s consideration of appointment, simply complete the online form. Please be sure the person you are nominating is interested in appointment to this board or commission and is able and willing to serve. Your nominee should also apply online.
