WHEREAS with each new administration comes the responsibility and the prerogative to determine the most constructive means of reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the policies and programs of state government;

WHEREAS numerous committees, commissions, councils, task forces, and the like, were established by executive order of my predecessor in office to study various issues and make recommendations;

WHEREAS it is my duty as Governor to examine the membership and evaluate the progress and outcomes of these study and advisory groups in order to determine whether their continuation is necessary or advisable in promoting the interests of the People of Alabama;

WHEREAS government must operate efficiently at all levels, without duplication of efforts, programs, or resources;

WHEREAS the streamlining of the Executive Branch of State government eliminates hurdles to effectiveness and removes unnecessary bureaucracy; and

WHEREAS, as Governor I value transparency, openness, and access to government for the People of Alabama, which can be hindered by an overabundance of committees, commissions, councils, task forces, and the like;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Kay Ivey, by virtue of the authority vested in me, as Governor of the State of Alabama, by the Constitution and the laws of the State of Alabama, do hereby order and direct that the committees, commissions, councils, task forces, and other such entities established by the executive orders below hereby stand dissolved unless expressly continued by me by executive order.
