Ken began working for Governor Riley as the Director of Legislative Affairs and
was appointed Legal Advisor when Attorney General Troy King left the Governor’s
Office for the Office of Attorney General.
Before serving with the Riley administration, Mr. Wallis worked with the law firm
Capell and Howard as a partner. He had previously worked with Alfa Insurance Companies
as General Counsel and later as Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer.
No stranger to the Governor’s Office, Ken was Legal Advisor to the Governor of Alabama
from 1983 to 1987, working with then-Governor George Wallace. He has also been active
in numerous civic organizations in Montgomery through the years.
Wallis received his undergraduate degree from Birmingham Southern College and his
J.D. from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University.
Ken and his wife Bonnie reside in Montgomery where they are members of the Methodist
Church. They have three married sons and two grandsons.
