Dr. Page Walley has served as commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services and was also a member of the Tennessee General Assembly.
Walley spent 10 years in the Tennessee House of Representatives, and, during his tenure, was the primary sponsor of legislation that created the Department of Children’s Services, the agency responsible for serving the needs of children in state custody and at risk of custody. Upon leaving the General Assembly, he served as a departmental consultant to the agency and then its commissioner.
While in the House, he served on the Governor’s Task Force to Study Child Care, the Ad Hoc Committee to Study School Safety Issues, and chaired the Ad Hoc Committee to Study Foster Care.
During his career in psychology, he also worked as a clinical consultant and clinical director at Quinco Community Mental Health Center in Bolivar, Tennessee, a clinical psychologist at Superior Life Care Services and as a psychologist at Genesis Christian Counseling Center, both located in Jackson, Tennessee.
Walley earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Davidson College in 1979, a Master of Science degree in clinical psychology from the University of Georgia in 1982 and a doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Georgia in 1984.
